It’s easy to believe that equity work is mostly about compassion and willingness. In reality, maintaining equitable workplaces, organizations, and leadership requires particular skills, knowledge, and praxis. Training in these skills can help leaders, teams, and organizations center justice and equity, and make effective and long-lasting strides toward their goals. 

Whether your organization is starting from a place of goodwill, concern, conflict, or somewhere in-between, Social Justice Synergy’s services will help you make positive progress. We welcome your inquiries and partnership requests. 

  • Strong relationships based on trust are the first step toward building equity. Our team-building gatherings help dismantle inequitable and hostile power dynamics and other obstacles that prevent healthy relationships in your organization.

  • SJS supports organizations and teams in the process of setting or revising goals, visions, values, and mission statements. Strategic planning assistance helps incorporate transparency, equity, and justice into your organizational culture, structure, policies, and procedures. This service is most effective when paired with our Full Organizational Equity Audit.

  • Learn about the sociological, political, and historical facts and principles that guide social justice organizing and equity work in the United States today. Our six-seminar courses are fully virtual, tailored to your organization, and taught by experienced educators. Example courses include Critical Race Studies, designed to guide all staff/full teams in examining your organization using critical race theory; or Examining Whiteness, designed for white managers to consider race, class, and other power dynamics at play in your organization.

  • As your organization reflects and plans ahead, we can help keep justice, equity, and diversity centered in your analysis. Our experienced and knowledgeable facilitators will lead your group through our effective thought exercises and group sessions, customized to fit your organization and strengthen the relationships therein (virtually and/or in-person).

  • One-to-one or small group sessions that help teams and leaders identify, address, and dismantle white supremacy and other forms of injustice within their organization. Participants will learn to use equity tools, and build vocabulary, skills, and an anti-bias lens. Interactive sessions build upon themselves and go beyond Anti-racism 101. This ongoing service is customized for your organizational goals, its power dynamics, and the social identities of those involved.

  • Ethical, just, effective facilitation for sensitive internal meetings to work through conflicts, concerns, and challenges — with emphasis on calling out and correcting inequity within your organization.

  • One-to-one coaching designed specifically for organizational leaders, with a focus on power dynamics, institutional oppression, understanding your organization’s role within your community and within broader societal structures, and cultivating your equity lens.

  • Is your organization equitable? Who has the power to make it so? Gain clarity on these and other important questions with an honest, transparent, informed analysis of your organization’s culture, goals, policies, and procedures. Most effective when paired with our Strategic Planning services.

  • Conflict resolution support for organizational leaders working through interpersonal or organization-wide conflicts, especially those stemming from power imbalances, discrimination, and institutional/social inequity.

  • Experienced, knowledgeable counsel and guidance for leaders and teams working toward organizational justice and equity goals. This ongoing service includes basic equity assessment, regular meetings, and light coaching for generalized support.
